Legal certainty is not only about doing things right – but also about doing the right things. In the Debt Authority we want to strengthen our view on how legislation and practice affect citizens and businesses, and where we can do things better so we avoid putting a citizen or a business in a situation that wasn’t intended. Do you want to help strengthen legal certainty? Then you are the one we are seeking for an important role as Chief Consultant in the Debt Authority.

The overarching and cross-cutting view on legal certainty

Your responsibility will be to analyze patterns and look at trends across complaints, inquiries, decisions and data, where you with a holistic picture of the Debt Authority's practices can translate knowledge and analyses into proposals that strengthen our processes and practices. You will play a central role in identifying inappropriate practices and ensuring that we act in accordance with the law, but with a strong focus on whether the legislation and our practices place citizens and businesses unfavorably in specific situations.

You take responsibility for following developments and reporting to the board, and together with us to ensure an even more systematic approach to legal certainty, where we targetedly work to do the right thing. Your tasks will include:

• Identify and analyze patterns in inquiries, complaints and decisions in the Debt Authority and other agencies, especially the Tax Appeal Board
• Theme and collect up practices that do not function as intended
• Provide regular reports on legal certainty in the agency and come with proposals where processes or legislation can be changed to advantage
• Follow up on data and denial/approval rates on e.g. complaints and decisions

You must have a good understanding of both legislation and organization

We are seeking a candidate with good understanding of both the legal and the organizational. Both parts are important because you need to help have a kind and critical eye on how we do things. So you can be a lawyer with experience from organizational issues, and can question how we do things. But you can also have another educational background combined with solid understanding of legal work and the opportunities and frameworks the legislation provides.

You understand the link between legislation, processes and daily operations, and it comes natural to you to identify inefficiencies and constructively translate observations into solutions and changes. You work independently and take responsibility for building the function, while being strong in collaboration and good at building relations across the organization. Finally you communicate clearly and understandably – also when you need to convey complex legal or organizational issues to colleagues without a legal background.

About us

You will become part of our Complaint Unit which physically sits in Roskilde/Trekroner. It is a strong legal unit that works to ensure we handle our task of debt collection in accordance with the law. The Complaint Unit is an unit with 26 employees, mainly with legal background. It is an unit with high well-being and a place where we thrive when busy.

You will be employed under collective agreements in accordance with the current collective agreement for academics in the state (AC).
