Egely - in short

Egely is Region of Southern Denmark’s secured 24-hour facility for young people aged 12 to 17 who are placed on legal or social grounds. We have a total of 20 places, of which 5 are in the particularly secured department. There are about 60 young people admitted each year. Currently we have 2 open departments with a total of 10 places.

When Egely has all places open, we are around 80 employees – primarily pedagogical staff in the living units, but also psychologists, health professionals, social workers, teachers and other professional groups.

The young people we work with often have complex challenges with outwardly directed behavior, crime, substance abuse or psychiatric problems.

Our main task is to help the young people find calm and stability, so they can build new life strategies and take steps toward a better future.

All children and young people at Egely are offered teaching or day activities in our internal teaching house, and have their everyday and leisure life in a living unit with four other children and young people.

The young people are often placed on the basis of complex social, psychiatry-related and behavioral challenges such as outwardly directed or criminal behavior, substance use and other challenges.

Your tasks

As a pedagogue at Egely you will have a meaningful and challenging everyday life, where you:

• Collaborate, conduct conversations and plan interventions and agreements with children and young people individually and in group processes.
• Assume the role model task in interaction with children and young people, including with a particular focus on mentalizing, guidance and calm-inducing visible framework for daily life.
• Document pedagogical interventions, structures and approaches in the citizen administrative system.
• Prepare, document and evaluate sub-goals, development plans, well-being and safety plans in cooperation with children and young people.
• Plan and conduct inclusive dialogues about the individual's perceived needs and well-being via team-young conversations.
• Ensure the organization of collaboration and contact with networks and partners around individual children and young people. Inform and involve parents/guardians as needed.
• Arrange and continuously adjust the support and framework for social communities within and across departments.
• Collaborate professionally and loyally in a team with your colleagues.

We are looking for someone who can

• Get an overview of the child’s and the young person’s overall life situation and needs, and plan and implement pedagogical goals and activities aimed at the child’s and the young person’s possible development.
• Manage adult responsibility in a caring manner and with attention to the differentiated prerequisites as a basis for scaling and adapting the effort and requirements in collaboration with children and young people about this.
• Work affirmatively in dialogue and have a mentalizing approach in interaction with children and young people.
• Reflect on own practice and make it available across disciplines.
• Offer the child and the young person trustworthy and accessible adult role models with the aim of creating safety, recognizability and increased well-being.
• Plan and implement learning processes and development processes with aligned goals in collaboration with the child and the young person.

The practical

The positions are 37 hours per week. In Region of Southern Denmark all positions must be posted as full-time positions. However, it should be noted that if you choose to apply for the position and you want a part-time position, you must mention this in your application.

Your application must include documentation of education, a complete CV and relevant attachments.

Working hours will be in rotating day/evening shifts, every 2nd weekend as well as on public holidays.

The positions require a driving license for passenger cars.

The region is obliged to inform you about the starting salary for the position.

You will be informed of base salary, centrally fixed allowances and pension in the collective agreement for: Social-pedagogical staff at 24-hour institutions etc., collective agreement number 32.38.1

In addition to the starting salary, the position may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications. There may also be on-call allowances.
