About the job

Can you ensure high-quality management support, and would you help shape and secure the work with the agency's Finance Act? Can you see yourself in a role where you have a coordinating function and a broad interface to the entire organisation? Do you have a sharp pen, and can you operate in a politically governed organisation? Then you may be the sharp economist we are looking for in Economy and Analyses.

You will become part of an economics office with 14 employees, which among other things is responsible for ensuring qualified and accurate accounting and financial management, the Finance Act work, as well as producing cross-cutting administrative analyses and financial analyses for the entire agency. The economics office collaborates across the tasks, and tasks are solved in close cooperation with the agency's other offices, other agencies and central actors in the state sector.

About the task

You will work with engaged colleagues with many different professional backgrounds, just as close contact with relevant stakeholders (project managers, office managers, undersecretaries, etc.) will be a natural part of your daily life. You must be eager to give your best, be curious, and contribute your professional insight to relevant issues.

Depending on your qualifications and experience, you will, in collaboration with your colleagues, take on responsibility for:

  • Finance Act work
  • Financial and legal audits
  • Cross-cutting coordination of the office's teams and support for the office's subject coordinators
  • Strategic development of the office's tasks

About you

You have several years of relevant professional experience and have completed relevant education, cand.merc., cand. scient. pol., cand.oecon., HD, or similar. It is expected that you have experience from a ministry or a larger agency – and thus know the quality requirements in relation to economic work – and experience with Finance Act and budget work.

We expect that you have a knack for coordination and collaboration with many different internal and external stakeholders, as you will help ensure an efficient and coherent handling of the economic area. You quality-assure presentations that lead to decisions at management or corporate level, and you therefore have a sharp pen and experience in writing concisely and precisely.

You have an understanding of the civil servant virtues and of acting within a political system. In addition, you should have the desire and ability to build trusting relationships with the agency's leadership group and key professional staff.

We are in the process of several initiatives to support professional handling of our core areas, including mapping and digitising a range of workflows. Our new colleague is expected to actively contribute to this agenda.

Finally, you must be willing to work in a changing daily routine, where prioritisation of tasks can change quickly. You should be able to handle short deadlines and be flexible in your work planning, and your structured approach is essential to meet tight and short deadlines.

To thrive and succeed in the position, it is important that you

  • Have strong collaboration skills and understand that our work and success are based on teamwork.
  • Take responsibility for the task solution and the process – including in relation to others – and question yourself along the way and be able to handle short deadlines
  • Be collaborative and contribute to the development of the overall economic support
  • Be sharp in written communication and generally be able to communicate and present numbers and data in a way that the recipient understands them and can use them as a basis for governance.
