Rehabilitative and activity-based treatment with the individual recovery treatment at the center – that’s what we do at A1. But what does that mean?

All patient pathways are individual. The patients' illness complexity and comorbidities vary, but your entire nursing professional foundation and knowledge will come into play with the patients through Fundamentals of Care. The patients (5 women and 11 men) have influence and are involved in the treatment. We treat patients with interdisciplinarity, respect, care, without avoidance behavior and with a clear closeness in patient care.

We plan DV and AV in the common environment together with the patients. In 2026, by the patients' wishes, we have had several trips to Copenhagen including museums, to Ringsted Outlet, a forest walk to Boserup Forest, a football match at Parken. We have also been to the cinema, held theme parties, watched film and football on TV. We have reading groups, bingo and wellness evenings and a music group as well as fitness classes.

Where are you in your nursing

• You are an experienced psychiatric nurse : you will immediately take responsibility in direct patient care and the ward's rhythm and join a well-organized contact team.
• You are newly qualified nurse : Your course profile will be built for you. You will be introduced by a colleague who has himself/herself recently qualified at A1. You join an experienced contact team.
• You are an upcoming nurse : Your intro program will be sharp and primarily in DV, your mandatory courses tailored to your clinical time, your education plan will be laid within the first year. You join a contact team with experienced colleagues who have been at A1 for a long time. Your learning curve will be good, neither steep nor flat.

Regardless of where you are in your nursing, you will get: Nursing colleagues in both DV and AV, a skilled and competent clinical nursing specialist, a super duper and strong learning environment and a daily life with professionalism, focus, flexibility and good humor.

A little about Section A1 and your upcoming workplace.

Our very interdisciplinary patient contact teams collaborate with the department's social worker, psychologist and chief physician on refined and LUP-recognized forensic-psychiatric patient care, which is based on harmony between patients and staff.

A1 is trained in KAT, Dual diagnosis treatment and is strong on MI. The 16 admitted patients have A and B judgments and are primarily diagnosed within the schizophrenia spectrum and the average length of stay is 5 years. The purpose of the patients' admission is to prevent new crime.

The tools BVC, START and HCR20, the weekly supervisions and professional forums, several Safewards principles and a good staffing level constitute the safety foundation for our work which has a strong focus on de-escalation and preserving patients' self-control.

In addition to professional and individual patient treatment, humor, good collegiality, low sickness absence and coherence between private and work life are highly prioritized at A1.

How will your day-to-day and tasks look?

As a nurse you will, in your daily work, operate with a high degree of patient involvement, activities and direct patient care.

Some of your tasks will include

• participate in the daily care, accompanying the patient to somatic hospital, dentist, shopping.
• Ensure that professional qualitative standards are a natural part of patient care.
• Pass on tools to find calm and support the patient in composing a daily life with meaningful activities for example physical activity, personal interests, ADL training, 1:1 sessions, group activities, working with substance avoidance/reduction.

What is it like to be a nurse with us?

• You will be well equipped with a mentor scheme, training in conflict management and de-escalation techniques, and a tailored introduction to forensic psychiatry consisting of 5 professional introductory days, where you together with other newcomers receive guidance and are introduced to forensic psychiatry, treatment strategy, our tools and much more. You will be enrolled in the program ” Godt på vej i psykiatrien ”
• A high professional level with opportunities for ongoing competence development and continuing education within forensic psychiatry, recovery, cognitive therapy, motivational interviewing, DAT, dual diagnosis treatment.
• You are never alone! We help and spar with each other and are supervised weekly during day and evening shifts. In addition to your team of capable colleagues, the ward management and its staff are ready to teach and ensure that you receive solid onboarding in daily clinical practice.

Introduction to the specialty and A1 will take place in DV and AV and be a exchange between in-person at A1, inclusion and involvement in the work from day 1 as well as course activities. We are an educational site for students and learners, and we will raise the challenge together.

Which salary and employment terms will you be hired on?

Start by 1 February 2027 or by agreement.

Salary and employment terms follow the collective agreement for non-management staff in the Health Cartel area entered into between the Health Cartel parties, including Danish Nurses Organization and RLTN with salary placement as a nurse.

The night ward is fully staffed, and you will therefore be scheduled with mixed shifts in accordance with the rules of the applicable working time agreement.

The position is in mixed shifts and has traditionally included weekend shifts every other weekend, but we are already implementing a flexible weekend arrangement at the start of 2027 with the possibility of shifts every third or every second or every fourth weekend. We have already collected the fixed staff weekend preference plan and will piece your wishes together with them.
