About the job

Daily smiles and room to grow – would you put your professional expertise to work on the family's path toward change

Are you interested in working with families with complex issues as well as preventive interventions? And would you like to be part of a daily work where high professionalism, creativity and collaboration are highly valued in close interaction with competent and caring colleagues? Can you see yourself thriving in having tasks in multiple departments in a split position between the Family Contact and the Family House?

Then you may be our new colleague.

The Family Contact is seeking a family practitioner: We are looking for a family practitioner who wants to work in a dynamic family department and can see themselves aligned with the vision for children and youth in Roskilde Municipality where: all children and young people shall thrive and become whole people, and that all children and young people have abilities and competencies that they should have the opportunity to express and develop – both individually and in collaboration with others .

The position as a full-time fixed-term family practitioner has a twofold focus, partly as a family practitioner in the Family Contact and partly as a practitioner in the Family House, the Wellbeing Contact - an easily accessible treatment offer and STIME (Strengthened Cross-Sectoral Intervention for the mental health of children and young people). There is an even distribution of hours between the practitioner duties in the Family Contact and in the Family House.

About Roskilde Family and Young People Center

Roskilde Family and Young People Center and the Wellbeing Contact are part of Children and Youth in Roskilde Municipality. The center consists of one integrated center leadership and three departments: Family Contact, Youth Contact and the Night Contact – Roskilde Youth Home. As a family practitioner with us, you will work daily in the Family Contact, which consists of 4 psychologists and 23 family practitioners. We are committed to strong interdisciplinary collaboration – both across the center and with authorities in Children and Youth.

Family Contact is housed at the Town Hall, seven minutes’ walk from Roskilde Station. We collaborate with families with children and young people aged 0-18 years – and in some cases up to age 23. Our work is based on different theoretical and methodological approaches, all focused on existing resources and development opportunities in the children, young people and families we work with.

Family House is located in the center of Roskilde, a three-minute walk from the station. Family House offers activities for families, children and young people 0-18 years within the early preventive and developmental area. This includes Wellbeing Contact, which handles the easily accessible treatment offers in collaboration with psychiatry.

In the collaboration interfaces for both departments, we base our work on solution-focused core assumptions and methodological tools. This gives us a common language for what we shall and want to do together – both internally and in collaboration with families, authorities and other professional networks.

A good working environment and a strong professional culture

We have a good working environment in both departments and make an effort to capitalize on the interdisciplinary potential in Roskilde Family and Young People Center. We place great emphasis on close and accountable collaboration with both referring authorities and the families’ private and professional networks.

With us you get a lot of influence on planning your own work-life. We meet each other with trust and openness, and we continually work to ensure a high degree of psychological safety – both in relation to task fulfillment and daily well-being.

We like to be together, and we value both professional reflections, humor and collegial care highly.

Your tasks will include, among other things

  • developmental pathways with parents, children and youth.
  • practical support and guidance at home.
  • group-based development pathways.
  • preparation of status reports.
  • handling of acute tasks in the Family Contact.
  • pre- and screening interviews in the Family House, Wellbeing Contact
  • easy-to-access treatment pathways in the Family House, Wellbeing Contact

We are looking for a family practitioner who

  • has a social work education and preferably a family therapy postgraduate specialization.
  • has experience with family treatment, and preferably experience with intensive and complex cases
  • has knowledge of, and preferably experience with, easily accessible treatment, including STIME
  • has knowledge of children's development, parenting, interaction and families’ everyday life.
  • has an eye for the well-being and developmental potential of families, children and young people.
  • can adapt development pathways to the individual family and the child’s concrete needs.
  • can work in a practical, investigative and flexible manner.
  • thinks in cross-cutting solutions and can bridge between actors around a family.
  • thrives in interdisciplinary collaboration where solutions are developed together with others.
  • wishes to help develop new working methods and contribute to cross-learning.
  • wants to be trained in manual-based treatment programs within easily accessible treatment offers, including training as a STIME practitioner

We offer

  • a workplace with engaged and professionally skilled colleagues in both the Family House and the Family Contact.
  • a workplace that values professional reflections as part of qualifying the treatment work.
  • an employment where a good working environment and psychological safety are seen as essential for task fulfillment.
  • opportunity for professional development and regular supervision with an external supervisor in the Family Contact and internal supervision in the Family House.
  • a job with great potential for self-organization and flexibility.
  • Two lively departments with a secure community and good humor.
  • opportunity to contribute to the development of early, interdisciplinary and practical-oriented interventions for children and families.
