Transdisciplinary Family Team at Poppelgården Family Center is seeking a Family Therapist

Poppelgården Family Center seeks: The right, creative and professionally strong colleague for safety- and treatment-work with children and their families, in the Cross-functional Family Team. In Poppelgården’s Cross-functional Family Team, a position as family therapist is available for filling.

The Cross-functional Family Team is an acute team that is brought into play in connection with notifications and in highly complex cases with high concern for the children's safety. We work closely with our colleagues in family guidance to develop safety plans, intensive trials and professional assessments of the family's needs and possibilities for change. From task to task we plan wise family treatment interventions in families with children aged 0-12 years, when they are at risk of placement.

The team consists of five family therapists with different professional backgrounds (social worker, social pedagogue, psychologist and teacher) and a team leader (psychologist), who work together to create sufficient change in the families, so the children can live sustainable childhoods.

The team’s core structure is close, flexible collaboration, having each other’s backs and being professionally ultra-focused and well-coordinated. We work on the basis of systemic family therapy, high-intensive and hands-on outpatient change work and safety plans that draw on the entire network.

By creating relevant contexts for treatment assessment, skilled conversations and family activities, interventions at home and in the network, our task is to contribute to sustainable changes among parents and networks and to see better well-being for the children.

We are an AMBIT team because the treatment work in the Cross-functional Family Team is inspired by and developed on the basis of AMBIT (Adaptive Mentalization-Based Integrative Treatment). AMBIT is the framework that helps us organize our work with families living in vulnerable situations with highly complex problems, small networks and little or fluctuating motivation and trust in help.

We want to create better, sustainable childhoods for children living vulnerable lives. Therefore it requires us to work intensively, non-doctrinally and creatively with the broad methodological repertoire we have, and the task requires us to, because we insist on believing in change, regardless of method, professional boundaries and administrative limits. Therefore all our tasks are something we tailor in dialogue with families, authorities and networks and constantly must assess whether they work as intended. We use Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT) for this.

The Cross-functional Family Team is part of Poppelgården Family Center, which is Hvidovre Municipality’s family treatment offering for children and young people aged 0-18 years. Poppelgården has 28 employees who work with advice and guidance, group interventions and family treatment, just as we are linked to an attendance-at-school initiative. In addition, psychological assessments, supervision, VISO work and training are part of the tasks that are solved, and that you can become part of.

We expect

• That you have a basic qualification as psychologist, teacher, social worker, pedagogue, or another relevant basic education
• That you have relevant treatment experience with at-risk children and their families
• That you are skilled at or have the courage for all kinds of conversations
• That you enjoy creating unconventional solutions in the work
• That you like a fast-paced environment
• That you want to participate in the development of the team and methods we are always working on
• That you have a therapeutic further education, preferably within systemic and mentalization-based change work
• That you stand solidly and calmly in your core qualification and see that it improves from others’ professional perspectives and assessments, which may be different from your own
• That you thrive with both independent work and lifting as part of the team
• That helpful and helpful-understanding behavior is part of your DNA
• That you can work time-flexibly when there is a need. You will be part of on-call duty every 6th weekend. By Friday at 17:00 you know any work tasks.

We will hold interviews on Thursday, November 19 and possibly a second interview on Friday, November 20, 2026.

The position is a permanent contract at 37 hours/week with expected start on January 1, 2027.
