Head of Department for Digitalization

Sermersooq Municipality seeks a dedicated and visionary Department Head for Digitalisation

As a department head, you will have a unique opportunity to help build and shape the digitalisation area in close collaboration with the head of IT & Digitalisation. The area is developing, and you will be a central driving force in creating the structures, working methods and collaborations that will form the foundation for the municipality's future digitalisation efforts.

The position provides the opportunity to set direction and translate ideas into concrete results in an organisation with high ambitions for digital development.

About the position

As Department Head you will play an important role in developing the municipality's digitalisation efforts. Tasks and areas of responsibility will evolve with the area’s maturity, but will include, among other things:

·Development and maturation of the municipality's digitalisation work

·Planning, coordination and execution of cross-cutting digitalisation projects

·Establishment and further development of governance within digitalisation and information security

·Support for implementation and anchoring of new digital solutions in the organisation

·Contributing to the development of the municipality's work with information security, compliance and data governance

·Creating an overview of digitalisation initiatives and supporting prioritisation and follow-up

·Building strong collaborative relationships with leaders, employees and external partners

·Professional and personnel leadership of employees in the digitalisation department

You will be part of the IT & Digitalisation leadership and will have a large influence on how the area develops in the coming years.

It is not essential that you have many years of experience as a people manager. The most important is that you have the desire and ability to achieve results through collaboration, development and leadership.

Criminal record certificate

This position is covered by the Act on the Duty to Obtain a Criminal Record. Pursuant to the act, employment may only commence once the municipality has received a criminal record. We must therefore note that the start date can only be agreed when the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.

Salary and employment terms

Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organisation, effective at the time of commencement.

The employment will be with a 3-month probationary period.

Housing

A staff housing may be allocated for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. are paid according to the currently applicable rules for rent payments in the Government of Greenland's and the municipality's properties in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, a temporary vacant housing will be offered to employees entitled to vacant housing, for which rent, utilities, etc. are paid as above. The commencement date depends on when staff housing becomes available. A relocation trip and household effects move are provided in accordance with the applicable rules.
