About the job

We are looking for an experienced project manager who will help ensure high quality and progress in strategic IT projects in Denmark's largest municipality and workplace?

You will become part of the Projects Team in Corporate IT – a strong professional community consisting of a team coordinator, project managers and test managers with different competences and experiences. What unites us is that we drive complex organizational and technical projects across Corporate IT and the municipality's seven administrations. Together we create solutions that make a tangible difference for both employees and citizens.

About the position

As a project manager in Corporate IT you will play a central role in the digitisation of the City of Copenhagen. You will work in a large and complex organization with many different professional groups and exciting challenges in a changing everyday life, where security, architecture, technology and processes are constantly evolving. You will always have at least one sparring partner available and participate in sparring groups across the team, but you must thrive being self-driven.

In the team we are currently working, for example, on the implementation of virtual assistants in our service entrances, procurement of a new ESDH system, acquisition of a new security operations platform, AI governance and implementation of a new data platform. Each project is staffed, for example, with a project manager, a test manager, IT architects, procurement lawyers and project participants and subject matter experts from the administrations.

It will be you as the project manager who is responsible for the daily management and coordination of the collaboration with reference to the project owner and the steering committee(s).

Your profile

We are looking for an engaged and proactive person who communicates clearly and has a natural ability to create buy-in across the organization. You work in a structured way and keep an overview, and you take responsibility and work proactively to drive tasks safely toward the goal. We emphasise that you are motivated by creating value through cross-functional collaboration and strong project management. It is an advantage if you

  • have at least three years of experience in driving larger projects
  • have experience working in a large politically governed organization
  • enjoy collaborating with different professional disciplines
  • have technical understanding of complex IT environments
  • have one or more relevant certifications (e.g., IPMA, PMI, Prince2, Prince2 Agile, SAFe)
  • have knowledge of both classical and agile project management methods.

About us

Team Projects helps our colleagues in all administrations realise IT projects through value-adding project management, test management and sparring to contribute to successful digitalisation in the City of Copenhagen.

You will work with skilled and dedicated colleagues with a broad range of experience, seniority and educational backgrounds. We have a portfolio of 25+ ongoing initiatives/projects, and you will experience solving tasks both in collaboration with other project managers and on your own. Across projects we have a fixed concept for sparring, hold regular team days, meet weekly to coordinate tasks – and enjoy working together in a busy everyday life.

We are also part of a larger service area (Projects and Cross-cutting Systems) with around 80 colleagues in total, who besides project managers and test managers include IT architects, system owners, delivery managers, team coordinators, agile roles and three office managers.

The work culture is characterized by a professional but informal tone with plenty of room. We have an informal management hierarchy, where you can always reach one of the three managers, regardless of whether it is your line manager.

We offer a job with good opportunities to use your project management skills. We focus on ongoing competence development and together we will ensure your continued development as a professional project manager.

Salary and employment terms

The position is full-time and compensation is according to collective agreement terms and qualifications. We offer flexible working conditions and hours and a salary that matches your qualifications. We would like you to start as soon as possible.
