About the job

Medical Ward for Internal Medicine seeks a nurse with an interest in medical nursing and a desire to work with a broad and complex patient group.

We are characterized by a strong collegial community, many differences, high professionalism and a continual ambition to develop our practice.

We are a dynamic inpatient ward with 28 beds and a high professional level. We receive patients with pulmonary medicine, rheumatology, gastroenterology, endocrinology and general internal medicine diseases – including patients with palliation needs. Our patient pathways range from short and acute to outpatient and longer-term, often characterized by a high degree of complexity and multimorbidity. We take pride in delivering high-quality nursing care to these patient groups and their relatives.

In the department, development of nursing practice is carried out systematically and purposefully with a focus on high professional quality, patient safety and evidence-based practice.

In daily practice, development work is carried out in close collaboration with the clinical development nurse, the learning and education coordinator and other key personnel, where development initiatives are continuously initiated, implemented and evaluated. We set the bar high.

The work includes

  • nursing care for medical patients with complex needs
  • observation, assessment and prioritization of patient pathways
  • nursing tasks within gastroenterology, pulmonology and the geriatric medical area
  • coordination in the team and contribution to structure in daily operations
  • participation in board/stand-up meetings, professional conferences and interdisciplinary discussions
  • simulation training and professional teaching
  • carrying out ward rounds after training, including coordinating the plan, data collection and participation in interdisciplinary decisions
  • opportunity in the long term to be trained as a clinical leader. The role includes overview of the day’s operations, support to colleagues, professional sparring, coordination in acute situations and ensuring structure, continuity and flow in the ward. Clinical leaders function as visible key personnel in everyday life and support both patient pathways and the team’s collaboration.

We have a strong focus on education and competency development of staff, including introduction of new employees and ongoing upskilling of nursing competencies.

We offer

  • a structured and targeted introduction
  • competency development planned in collaboration with the deputy head and the learning and education responsible nurse
  • mentoring from experienced clinical nursing leaders in all shifts
  • simulation and instruction to strengthen clinical competencies
  • a work environment with focus on quality, professionalism and integrity
  • opportunity to influence work time scheduling, including requested shifts

We are looking for a nurse who

  • works responsibly and reflectively
  • has an interest in complex medical nursing
  • communicates clearly and constructively
  • actively contributes to teamwork
  • can create an overview and remain calm in a varied daily life
  • is curious about learning, development and new working procedures
