About the job

To you who want to use your professional expertise – and actually get to know your residents

Imagine a nursing job where you don’t meet a new patient journey every 20 minutes. Where you learn the person behind the diagnosis. Where you notice the small changes because you know how the resident usually is. And where nursing is about what you do, what you see – and what you initiate.

If that sounds like nursing to you, keep reading.

On the 1st floor in House 3 at Symfonien, 24 people live here, mainly with dementia. They don’t need a nurse who can run the fastest. They need someone who is curious, professionally reflective and can create security in a daily life where relationships mean everything.

You do not need to have many years of experience with dementia. You may also be newly qualified. We do not expect you to know everything from day one – but we expect you to be eager to learn, to dare to ask questions and to bring your nursing expertise into play.

What will you be doing?

You will naturally use your nursing expertise. But you will also use your judgement, your curiosity and your ability to see the whole person.

In close collaboration with our skilled nursing staff, you will among other things

  • identify and respond to small changes in the residents' physical and mental state
  • assess complex issues and help initiate the right interventions
  • coordinate pathways with doctors, hospitals, relatives and other partners
  • spar with and support colleagues in daily nursing care
  • work closely with social and health care assistants, social and health helpers, therapists and other professions
  • help develop nursing quality and leave your own mark on the nursing care
  • be involved in ensuring that our residents live a dignified and secure life – also when life becomes more fragile.

Who do we hope you are?

You may have worked with dementia for 20 years – or have just obtained your authorization yesterday.

Experience is of course valuable, but the most important for us is your approach to people, your professional curiosity and your desire to develop yourself.

We hope that you

  • are a licensed nurse
  • are curious about people and want to learn about the dementia field
  • dare to use your professional skills – and dare to say out loud when there is something you do not yet know
  • can work independently and take responsibility
  • thrive in a multidisciplinary community
  • can maintain calm and be curious when a resident’s behavior can be difficult to understand
  • see opportunities rather than limitations
  • are a colleague who contributes both professionally and to the community.

What will you get with us?

We cannot offer free massage, Friday bar every week or foosball.

Instead, we can offer something we ourselves think is more important

  • competent and engaged colleagues
  • a workplace with humor and plenty of headroom
  • a thorough introduction – also if you come straight from studies
  • opportunity for professional sparring and development
  • time to get to know the residents and their stories
  • a leader who prioritizes sparring, presence and accessibility
  • a daily life where relationships and professional quality weigh more than punch clocks
  • an opportunity to put your own mark on the development of nursing care with us.

Have you become curious?

You do not need to have decided in advance.
