As we have the opportunity to expand our outpatient clinic, we are seeking a new nurse with an interest in the complexity of geriatric psychiatry – are you our new colleague?

Daily life and responsibilities

As a nurse with us you will be attached to between 30-40 patients with different diagnoses. You will become the contact nurse and will be responsible for the treatment of your patients in close collaboration with the outpatient clinic's doctors and chief physician. More precisely your tasks include:

• follow-up conversations after initiation/adjustment of medication
• supportive conversations with a focus on cognitive tools
• collaboration with municipalities, nursing homes and support contacts
• general coordination of your patients' pathways
• opportunity to share responsibility for group treatment (cognitive and/or psychoeducational)
• to be a daily supervisor to nursing students

A bit about the Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic for the Elderly

The Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic for the Elderly at the Psychiatric Center Ballerup is an outpatient function with the possibility of outreach visits. We treat patients aged 70 years and older with mental disorders of moderate-severe degree requiring multidisciplinary pathways, as well as patients with dementia with severe behavioral disturbances.

The Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic for the Elderly offers medical treatment, supportive conversations, short individual CBT programs, group treatment and maintenance ECT.

The outpatient clinic consists of a department head physician and chief nurse, a specialist doctor, junior doctors, nurses, and secretaries.

Qualifications

You are a professionally grounded nurse, preferably with psychiatric experience and experience in treating this patient group.

It is an advantage if you have competencies within IT/registration in the health platform. If you have training in cognitive treatment modalities, preferably with group experience, that is also an advantage.

We expect you to be flexible, work independently, be development-oriented and have good collaboration skills.

Salary and employment terms

This is a permanent position with start on 1 January 2027 or by agreement.

You are employed in accordance with the collective agreement for non-managing personnel in the Health Cartel area. You are during employment covered by the current working time agreement entered into between the Regions' Payroll and Tariff Board and the Danish Nurses Organization.

The outpatient clinic is open during daytime hours Monday-Friday.

As a newly employed nurse you will also be attached to a specific 24-hour unit, where you participate in duty work on Saturdays and Sundays every 6 weeks. We will of course ensure that you are well prepared for the task. This happens in the form of an individual introductory program, knowledge sharing and sparring with colleagues. And it happens in the form of ongoing competence development based on your experiences and needs.
