About the job

Dear nurse If you want to tackle the complex and multisick medical patient who requires specialized nursing, as well as the acutely ill patient, then you are the one to send an application to.

We are ready to welcome you with a well-planned introduction and training program and a lot of fantastic colleagues. Whether you are freshly graduated or have several years of experience, the most important thing for us is that you receive a good introduction to the department. Therefore we place great emphasis on you feeling welcomed and thus becoming confident and competent to carry out the tasks and functions we have here in the department.

About the department: AMA Hobro is an acute internal medical department, where we treat all types of medical patients whose course does not require treatment of the patient in a specialist department.

We receive patients around the clock either from their own home via their GP, on-call doctor, the emergency medical call center (AMK) or from other departments at AAUH.

In relation to the acute aspect we perform many functions independently. We do not have a cardiac hold for cardiac arrest or other acute situations. We are part of the MAT team together with a physician, paramedics and an anesthesiology nurse, until the patient is stable or can be transferred to intensive care or another specialist department.

Therefore we place great emphasis on simulation training in cardiac arrest, scenario training and teaching, so that we are confident and well equipped for acute situations.

In AMA there is an attached minor injury clinic with treatment nurses who can manage patients with minor injuries.

In addition, there is a lot of outpatient activity linked to the department. A cardiology outpatient clinic with heart failure and AFLI clinic. A medical day unit with several follow-up patients, a subacute function and a pulmonary outpatient clinic.

The everyday life with us is thus varied and filled with professionally exciting challenges, as we work with many medical specialties, participate in acute and general medical nursing, and have the opportunity to work in the minor injury clinic or parts of the outpatient area.

Who are we: We are a mixed group of both young and older nurses and social- and health care assistants with different levels of experience. We work closely with doctors, physiotherapists, dietitians and occupational therapists.

With us, good collaboration is essential and collegial sparring is a given, as it creates a good working environment and contributes to good patient pathways. It should be nice to come to work here! Therefore you will also experience an informal tone, humor and good collegiality with many good laughs. As we like each other’s company, we also hold social events outside work hours.
