Area Manager for Daycare

Help shape the future of day care services in Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality

Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality is seeking, as of 1 January 2027, an area leader who will create cross-cutting leadership, high pedagogical quality, and coherence across day care services.

How do you create a new organization that both builds on the best of existing practice and makes room for new ways to succeed? And how do you develop a leadership community where individual leaders take on greater responsibility, while at the same time standing stronger together?

These are some of the questions you will have the opportunity to work on as a new area leader in Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality.

Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality is changing the organization of the day care area from four to two areas and is therefore seeking one of two area leaders to lead the new structure. This is a new position where both the organization and the leadership task must be shaped and developed. The final geographic distribution of the areas has not yet been determined, and you are therefore seeking the opportunity to help shape the future of day care leadership in Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality.

You will have the opportunity to leave a lasting mark

You step in at a time when there is a significant room to influence development. The task is to create a new organization with a common direction, strong collaborative relationships, and a culture where success is achieved across boundaries. You will build on engaged professional environments and local strengths, and also dare to challenge the existing framework.

You must succeed through other leaders

One of the most exciting tasks will be to develop a leadership model where local leaders are given a clear mandate and good conditions to practice close pedagogical leadership. Your task will be to create a leadership team that takes responsibility, develops each other, and finds shared solutions, with you as the overarching guiding figure.

You will have strategic influence close to the core task

As an area leader, you will have significant responsibility for both pedagogical development, the finances, and the overall operations. You must be able to move between long-term ambitions and the day-to-day dilemmas, and see the connection between them.

You will become part of a close leadership community

You will work closely with the Head of Growth and Learning Søren Buch, the other area leader, and the other managers in the children and youth area. Here you will have the opportunity to both shape the shared priorities and seek sparring in difficult decisions.

We are looking for a leader who is motivated by taking on a large responsibility but does not feel the need to bear it alone. A leader who can create results through relationships, clear decisions, and strong collaboration.
