Pedagogical staff sought for Veum Daytime Custodian Team

Veum Dag is a protected employment and activity and social participation offer for citizens with significant physical and mental functional impairments under §103, §104 and STU. The offering is divided into three teams, which together house the workshops: Media, Animals, Janitor, Kitchen, Textile, Service, Wood and Horticulture. In addition, various activities are offered, built around creativity, movement and outdoor life.

The team is centered around janitorial tasks, both fixed and ad hoc. One of the important tasks is to maintain Lille Veum's green areas. We care that the properties are kept neat and that you as staff can take responsibility for it. Furthermore, it is the janitor team that the other teams contact when they need help for example raising the flag, moving garden furniture, hanging shelves, things that need to be carried or moved and a bulb that needs to be changed.

The team also handles the delivery of firewood to customers mainly in the winter season. As staff it is important that you are pedagogically well-founded, as citizens' functioning levels vary and the pedagogical approach must be tailored to the individual, to ensure welfare and development for the citizens.

It is important that you are practically inclined and willing to participate in the practical janitorial work yourself, both because there will be hours without citizens that will be used for janitorial tasks, but also because there may be sub-processes that citizens cannot. You will become part of the outdoor team and in the afternoon you will become part of the team’s afternoon activities such as music, outdoor life, exercise and similar.

In short we are looking for a colleague who

• sees the practical tasks as part of the pedagogical effort
• will take responsibility for Lille Veum's green areas being kept neat, this includes among others hedge trimming, lawn mowing, removal of weeds, sweeping etc.
• is helpful and would like to participate in the work community
• is present and can express clear boundaries in an appreciative manner
• is practically oriented and willing to participate in the practical janitorial work
• sees opportunities rather than limitations and is pedagogically well-founded
• values written documentation, which is part of the job - knowledge of Nexus is an advantage
• can and will work in teams and make decisions collectively
• can see opportunities for individual development and a sense of community, for citizens with very different abilities and possibilities
• can actively engage in sparring, can give and receive feedback
• is open, outgoing and positive

The position is day-time and is framed at 32-34 hours. If another hour count is desired, there is an opportunity to discuss this.
