Property service technician wanted at DMJX in Aarhus

Denmark's School of Media and Journalism (DMJX) is seeking a dedicated and service-oriented facilities technician for our campus at Katrinebjerg in Aarhus N.

We offer a varied daily routine where no two days are the same, and where you have a strong influence on planning your tasks. You will become an important part of the daily operations of the campus and will have close contact with colleagues, students, and external partners.

Your tasks

As a facilities technician, you will be part of Building and Facilities and will have a wide range of tasks, including:

• Daily operation and maintenance of buildings and technical installations
• Setup and preparation of rooms for teaching, examinations and events
• Supervision of coffee machines, copiers, and other equipment
• Light carpentry repairs and practical tasks
• Coordinating tasks with colleagues, as well as external contractors and service partners
• Follow-up on fault reports and operational tasks
• Approval and follow-up of own tasks
• Contribution to a well-functioning and safe campus environment

The position requires that you can keep an overview, prioritize your tasks, and thrive in a workday with many different inquiries and tasks.

• CTS systems
• Ventilation and heating systems
• ABA systems and sprinkler systems
• Intrusion alarms and access control
• Production and administration of access cards
• AV such as screens, projectors and microphones.

About the department

Building and Facilities in Aarhus consists of a total of three employees, of which one is part-time.

We work closely together to ensure a good and well-functioning campus for students and staff.

We share offices and office facilities with, among others, the IT department, so you should thrive in an environment with many collaboration surfaces and sometimes high activity across disciplines.

The Operations Manager, whom you and Building and Facilities report to, is based at DMJX in Copenhagen. Therefore, it is important that you are comfortable with independent responsibility and can make decisions in daily life. You will naturally always have the opportunity for sparring and support when needed.

There is a weekly online department meeting between Copenhagen and Aarhus, and about once a month the Operations Manager visits Aarhus and is there for several days.

Working hours and on-call arrangement

The workday starts at 07:00, and we therefore expect that you are a morning person.

You will be part of an on-call arrangement, typically after a 7/7 or 14/14 model. The arrangement is planned flexibly in collaboration with the nearest colleague with whom you share the on-call duty. When you are on call, you must be able to report physically on campus within about one hour in case of emergencies.

Overtime may also occur in connection with special events such as admission tests, open house, and similar activities.

Salary and employment terms

The position is a permanent full-time role with start as soon as possible, but no later than 1 January 2027.

Salary and employment terms are determined in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the relevant professional organization depending on your educational background.
