Cleaning Assistants for OUH Cleaning and Hospital Services

We are looking for engaged cleaning assistants who want to help start a completely new task and make a difference for citizens and users in their daily lives.

From January 1, 2027, Odense University Hospital will take over the responsibility for cleaning at 7 health and care places distributed around Funen. This means that we will need new colleagues who want to become part of the team and help create a good and professional start to the new assignment.

About Borgernær Sundhed

Borgernær Sundhed is a new department at Odense University Hospital, established as part of the health reform.

The department shall support a closer, more coherent and equitable health system and ensure professionally strong services for citizens who need health services closer to their daily lives.

As a cleaning assistant you will be an important part of the daily operations and help ensure clean, safe and hygienic environments for both citizens, users and employees.

About the positions

The average working time is 30-37 hours per week with working hours within the time frame 6 a.m. – 3 p.m. There are currently no weekend or evening shifts, but may occur in the future.

The positions are distributed across our 7 new areas with health and care places: You will be permanently assigned to a specific address and you have the opportunity, when applying, to indicate where you would like to work.

Cleaning assistants will be needed in the following towns

• Svendborg, Aldersro 2
• Nyborg, Holmegade 3
• Vissenbjerg, Østergade 7B
• Søndersøm Vestervænget 23-63
• Espe (Ringe), Snarupvejen 9 a/b
• Odense S, Østerdalen 2-4
• Munkebo, Toften 600A

Your tasks

As a cleaning assistant, your primary tasks will be

• Cleaning and hygiene
• Possible kitchen and service functions
• Other practical service tasks
• Contribute to citizens and users meeting clean, safe and inviting surroundings

• Are robust – both physically and mentally
• Can keep an overview and good mood, even when it is busy
• Can have several tasks going on at the same time and prioritise them
• Speak, read and understand Danish – also when communication is via phone
• A driving licence for a ordinary car can be an advantage

Educational requirements

If you are not already trained as a cleaning technician, you must eventually complete the vocational education as a cleaning technician.

You must also have passed Danish and mathematics at the 9th grade level.

Before employment

Before you start in the job, there will be thorough training in cleaning methods targeted at hospital standards.

Therefore it is required that you can participate in the training

Salary and terms of employment

The Region is obliged to inform you about the starting salary for the position. You will be informed of the base salary, centrally fixed allowances and pension according to Agreement 34.02 for cleaning assistants .

In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.

About the department

Cleaning and Hospital Services is a central service department at OUH, covering hospital units in Nyborg, Svendborg and Odense. The department also provides services to the psychiatric hospital in Svendborg and Odense as well as New OUH. From January, cleaning in the health and care places around Funen will also be part of the task.

Cleaning and Hospital Services is part of the Service Center, which consists of about 1,300 employees distributed across 4 departments: Logistics, Cleaning and Hospital Services, Building Operations and Service, and Preparation and Relocation.
