About the job
Would you like to be part of a dedicated multidisciplinary colleague group where good patient pathways and a good working environment are in focus?
School-age Children Team 2, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department, Skejby, is seeking a social worker for an outpatient position. The position is full-time and to be filled from 1 February 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Working hours are from 8:00 to 15:30 by default, but there is flexibility.
Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is a rapidly growing area with strong political focus and increasing demand for assessment and treatment.
The Psychiatric Clinic for School-age Children Team 2 assesses and treats children aged 8-13 years and consists of 2 clinics with joint leadership, of which one clinic is located in Gødstrup and the other in Skejby. Team 2 has around 75 staff with various professional backgrounds including doctors, psychologists, nurses, pedagogues, and social workers.
As a social worker in Team 2 you would be one of 3 social workers who work closely together and have a high degree of joint task solving and distribution. The social workers also allocate a attendance day in Gødstrup 1 day per month.
As a social worker in BUA there is particular focus on mapping the social, family, and educational aspects that have significance for the child’s psychiatric symptoms. Your task will thus, in collaboration with the other professional groups, be to see the whole picture of the child’s social problems.
The social worker plays an important role in communicating the child’s support needs in relation to the psychiatric diagnoses to primary care based on the assessment process and with reference to relevant legislation. In connection with assessment and treatment, there may be a need to establish close contact with other authorities with a view to obtaining relevant support. This may, for example, take the form of notifications, telephone contact, network meetings, status certificates, etc.
As a social worker in Team 2 you will have an important role as coordinator and focal point in the treatment courses for children with complex psychiatric and/or family issues, but all patients have a therapist in psychology, medical or nursing disciplines.
The social worker in psychiatry does not have the authority to initiate support via the Child Act.
In addition, the social workers provide advice and guidance to colleagues in both Skejby and Gødstrup regarding social-work-related and regulatory questions.
Qualifications
- broad knowledge of relevant legislation and support measures
- minimum 3 years’ experience from authorities or other experience from the administration
- ability and willingness to engage in multidisciplinary collaboration
- strong coordination skills and the ability to collaborate with internal and external partners
- strong communication skills, both oral and written
- a holistic approach to the individual family, both in mono- and cross-disciplinary contexts
We offer
- an exciting and challenging position among skilled, experienced colleagues in an interdisciplinary team
- a high professional level
- management focus on a good working environment and resources
- supervision
- mentoring arrangement with an experienced social worker.
Salary and employment terms in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. The appointment is conditional on a satisfactory child and criminal record check.
Further information can be obtained by contacting social worker Mette Thomasen at tel. 2381 8546 or chief physician Tine Mejer at tel. 2367 3620.

The application deadline is 21 November 2026. Interviews will be held on 3 December 2026 in the morning.
In the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department we place a high value on employee safety. All employees attend a de-escalation course, which must be maintained in accordance with the current guidelines.
All employees must be able to use de-escalation methods in required situations and, depending on the workplace, must also be able to perform the role of alarm runner on an alarm team. Parts of our security measures cross between child and adolescent psychiatry and adult psychiatry, such as cross-department alarm teams, and are therefore solved jointly with staff from adult psychiatric departments.
