About the job

Do you have a knack for conveying complex messages, writing good texts, and creating overview? And do you want to work closely with a larger defence programme where collaboration, structure and communication play a central role?

Then you may be our new student assistant in the Program Office for Ground-Based Air Defence (JBL) at the Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization (DALO).

About us

The Program Office for Ground-Based Air Defence is part of DALO and works with the implementation of the political agreements on strengthening Denmark's ground-based air defence as part of the Defence Agreement 2024-2033.

We work across disciplines, organisations and stakeholders to support the programme's progress and realisation. This requires coordination, knowledge sharing and clear communication – both internally in the programme and in collaboration with external stakeholders.

You will become part of a professional environment where many different competencies come together, and where there is a need for both structure, initiative and the ability to translate information into clear and targeted communication.

As a student assistant you will be attached to the programme office’s Project Management Office (PMO) function, where you will have a broad contact surface and the opportunity to contribute to both the programme’s communication and the daily administrative support.

The position

We are looking for an engaged and proactive student who wants to work with communication in practice and at the same time contribute to the administrative and coordinating tasks that support a larger programme.

The position combines communications tasks with practical PMO support. You will have the opportunity to work independently on concrete tasks, but will also collaborate closely with colleagues in the programme office and the FMI press and communications section to ensure that information is conveyed clearly, relevantly and timely.

Your tasks will include among others

Communication and dissemination

  • Contribute to the preparation and editing of the programme's internal newsletter.
  • Prepare news, articles and information material for internal communication.
  • Support external communication, including preparation and quality assurance of texts and dissemination material.
  • Present complex professional content in an easily understandable and recipient-tailored way.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of communication materials and templates.
  • Help ensure a consistent visual and linguistic line in the programme's presentations and other materials.

PMO and programme support

  • Prepare and maintain presentations, including PowerPoint material for meetings and management forums.
  • Participate in meetings and prepare minutes as well as follow-up on decisions and agreements.
  • Support registration, data entry and quality assurance of data in the programme's overviews and systems.
  • Contribute to coordination and follow-up on meetings, activities and tasks.
  • Help structure, update and maintain documentation and information materials.
  • Handle other administrative tasks that support the programme's day-to-day work.

The tasks are tailored to your competencies and interests, and there will be opportunities to gradually take on more responsibility as you gain experience and insight into the programme.

About you

We imagine you are pursuing a relevant higher education degree in areas such as communications, journalism, rhetoric, media studies or similar. The most important thing is that you have an interest in dissemination and a desire to translate your expertise into concrete products and solutions.

We emphasise that you

  • Have strong written communication skills and be able to write clearly, precisely and recipient-tailored.
  • Have an interest in internal and external communication and preferably experience with text production.
  • Have a flair for PowerPoint and preferably knowledge of Microsoft 365.
  • Work in a structured way and have an eye for detail and quality.
  • Can handle both creative communication tasks and more routine administrative tasks.
  • Take initiative, work independently and follow your tasks through to completion.
  • Are curious, collaborative and thrive with having several tasks ongoing.
  • Are eager to get to know a complex organisation and understand how communication supports a larger programme.

It is advantageous if you have experience with newsletters, digital communication, graphic layout or dissemination of technically complex content, but not a requirement.

You do not need prior knowledge of the Defence or procurement of materiel. We provide a thorough introduction to the programme, our working processes and the tasks you will handle.

Working hours and planning

We imagine you work on average about 15 hours a week, spread over two work days at our workplace in Ballerup. The working hours will be planned with regard to your studies and our tasks, and there may be an opportunity for remote work after agreement.

We will of course take exam periods and holidays into account and also expect you to be flexible to some extent during periods of higher workload.

Conditions of employment

As a bachelor student, the employment is governed by the applicable General Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organizations – The Civil Service Area (OAO-S General Agreement) and the collective agreement for office staff, laboratory technicians and IT employees (HK agreement).

Your employment as a student assistant under the HK agreement is conditional on you being an active student and able to document that you are enrolled at a higher education institution or at a medium-length higher education (MVU) at a professional bachelor's level or equivalent institution. The employment is time-limited to and including the completion of the bachelor degree under the HK agreement.

As a graduate student, the employment is governed by the applicable agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organisations for academics in the state (Academics’ Agreement). The employment is time-limited.

There is an employer-financed pension scheme tied to the position.

The workplace is in Ballerup.

As an employee under the Defence Ministry’s area you are subject to certain special terms. You must, among other things, be security-cleared and maintain the security clearance throughout the employment relationship.

As an employee you are obliged to perform duties outside the country’s borders, including at units in international operations with a view to participating in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peacebuilding, humanitarian and other similar operations.
