Student Mentor - make a difference for your fellow students

Are you a student in the Physiotherapist education and do you want to use your experience to support others? Do you have energy, are you good at listening and want to be part of a community where you contribute to well-being and solidarity? Then maybe you are the one we are looking for!

We are seeking 1-2 new student mentors who want to be a support for fellow students – academically, socially and personally. You will play an important role in the study environment and work closely with the program's instructors and management.

What does a student mentor do?

As a student mentor you are a resource person who

• is a role model and sparring partner for fellow students
• helps create an overview of the study and its requirements
• listens and supports fellow students who need a chat about student life
• contributes to well-being and community on the program
• participates in activities such as study start, open house and high school visits
• helps to retain fellow students on the program

You will become part of a team of mentors and work closely with the responsible teacher and the program leadership. You also get the opportunity to help shape the study environment and make a real difference.

Who are you?

We imagine that you

• are a student in the Physiotherapist education at UCL
• want to engage in the study environment
• are approachable, good at communicating and have an overview
• perhaps have experience with mentoring or voluntary work – but that is not a requirement

It is expected that you participate in the foundation course for student mentors.

Compensation and start

You will be employed on January 1, 2027 or after further agreement.

Working hours will be variable, but with an average of around 10 hours per month.

You will be employed and paid as a student assistant in accordance with The Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees’ Organizations – the state sector (OAO – collective agreement) and Organizational Agreement for office clerks, laboratory technicians and IT staff (HK) . Employment is conditional on you being an active student.
