About the job

Nurse sought for intensive (closed) 24-hour ward at the Psychiatric Center Ballerup, Herlev and Gentofte Hospital.

Do you want to be involved from the very start – not just to cover shifts, but to actively shape an entirely new ward?

Ward 6 has just opened again, and we are in full swing to create a workplace where high professionalism, safety, humanity and humor go hand in hand.

Who are we? Ward 6 is an intensive (closed) 24-hour ward with 13 beds, where we receive patients from across the psychiatric spectrum in an acute phase of their illness. We see the person behind the illness.

Patients need calm, structure, relationships, professional care and staff who can be present – also when it is difficult and that is what we intend to be!

In the daytime and evening hours we support and motivate the patients to activities and structure. At night we create calm, safety and good sleep hygiene.

There is always an opportunity for professional sparring, and we have several daily conferences, time set aside for dialogue in each shift, as well as theme days with teaching and supervision.

You will become part of an interdisciplinary community consisting of among others nurses, social- and health care assistants, psychologists, doctors, psychiatrists, occupational therapists, pedagogues, social workers and recovery mentors – we work together on the complex.

A new ward – a new culture We are already well underway to build Ward 6 from the ground up, in connection with a major reorganization - that means you will not only be employed in a ward; your input and experience will matter.

With us

  • work we recovery-oriented
  • take our starting point in the individual person
  • work environmentally therapeutically
  • rely on each other across disciplines and as people
  • focus on the principle of least intervention
  • train de-escalation, communication and psychophysical techniques

.. and we also laugh together when there is room for it.

Your role As a nurse you become the contact person and play an important role in the patient’s trajectory.

You will, among other things,

  • have conversations with patients and their relatives/networks
  • plan and document in Sundhedsplatformen
  • work with cognitive-behavioral therapy and associated forms
  • work closely with outpatient services and municipal actors
  • contribute to a safe and healing environment – also in everyday practical tasks
  • keep hope up when the patient cannot themselves

.. in addition you can become the driving force for initiatives in the ward – depending on your qualifications and what you are passionate about.

Who are you? You are a trained nurse and

  • have an interest in psychiatric nursing
  • thrives in change and enjoy being involved where something new is created
  • are empathetic, curious and relationally strong
  • can keep an overview – even when the pulse rises
  • see the person behind the illness
  • are keen to work environmentally therapeutically
  • would like to contribute to the education of students and learners

Psychiatric experience is an advantage – but not a requirement.

What do we offer you?

  • Opportunity to be involved from the start and shape both professionalism and culture
  • Thorough introduction and mentoring program
  • Courses, competence development and opportunity for further education
  • Maintenance training twice a year
  • A working environment with room for diversity, humor and professional pride
  • A ward that prioritizes well-being, and that always lends a helping hand
  • Visible and approachable leadership
  • Training facilities, staff discounts, massage and a really good canteen come with it.

Salary and employment terms The position is full-time with start as soon as possible.

You will be employed under the collective agreement for non-management staff in the Health Sector area.

You are under employment covered by the applicable working time agreement concluded between the Regions’ Salary and Tariff Board and the Danish Nurses’ Organization.

The 24-hour ward is staffed around the clock, and you will therefore be scheduled with mixed shifts in accordance with the rules of the current working time agreement.
