About the job

Are you a nurse and dream of a job where professionalism, togetherness and balance in daily life come together in one

Are you a nurse and dream of a job where professionalism, togetherness and balance in daily life come together in a higher unity?

With us you only have weekend shifts every 6 weeks – and a department filled with dedicated colleagues, high specialisation and plenty of opportunities to develop yourself.

In short

  • Weekend shifts only every 6 weeks
  • Onboarding with 8 weeks of introduction for newly graduated and 6 weeks for experienced nurses.
  • Close accompaniment by experienced colleagues
  • High specialisation and a good learning environment
  • Great variation in tasks – both acute and elective pathways
  • A strong and warm community with interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Influence on working hours with a dialogue-based duty plan

The urological ward at Roskilde Hospital treats adult patients with diseases of the bladder, kidneys, prostate and urinary tract. We have an emergency function for the entire Region Zealand and also receive many planned surgical patients. Hospitalisations are short – typically 1-2 days – which provides an exciting flow and great variation in tasks.

The department is moving to the new hospital in Køge in January 2028, and you will therefore be part of an exciting transition to modern and top-functioning facilities.

We have two wards, a urinary tract surgical ward 1 where patients are primarily elective and a urinary tract surgical ward 2 with acutely admitted patients. We thus have a total of 32 beds. You will be employed in both wards, giving you a broad specialty with lots of development opportunities and close collaboration across wards.

A team you would like to go to work with!

With us you meet colleagues of all ages and backgrounds – and strong interdisciplinary collaboration between doctors, nurses, SAD assistants and secretaries. We help each other, learn from each other and make room for questions and reflections.

Our working environment is characterised by

  • A safe learning environment – also for newly graduated
  • Focus on quality and professional development
  • Humor, warmth and a social community (both at and outside work, if you wish)

What do our colleagues say?

Nurse, employed since 2014

  • "Diversity! No two days are the same – and it’s never boring. I learn something new every day, and I’m actually quite wild about my job."

Newly employed nurse

  • "I came from a department with shifts every 2nd weekend. With two small children it was difficult. When I saw the job ad for weekend shifts every 6 weeks, I was sold. It’s pure luxury."

Who are you?

  • You are a trained nurse with Danish authorization – newly graduated or experienced.

We are looking for you who

  • Takes responsibility for quality and care
  • Contributes to the good work environment
  • Shares knowledge and listens to your colleagues
  • Thrives with influence and variation in the tasks

What do we offer you?

  • Start 01/01/2027 or after agreement
  • Hours according to your wishes – preferably min. 32 hours
  • Shifts: day/evening or day/night work (we are open to other possibilities)
  • Weekend shift only every 6 weeks
  • Close accompaniment of experienced colleagues until you feel completely ready
  • A leadership that is present and close to daily operations
