About the job

Do you want to join the team in one of Denmark's most exciting acute care environments?

In the Unified Emergency Department at OUH we are looking for a nurse who is passionate about professional development and the care of the acutely ill patient.

We provide a thorough introduction to both the department and as a new employee you will be trained in one of our specialties:

  • Medicine
  • Medical cardiology
  • Neurology
  • Orthopedic surgery
  • Emergency department
  • Abdominal and urinary tract surgery

We have chosen to focus the training on one area at a time, so you gain a solid professional foundation and the opportunity to build strong relationships with your colleagues.

The daily life in FAM

In FAM we meet patients with very different disease pictures, needs and expectations. It requires high professionalism, strong collaboration skills and the ability to maintain an overview when the pace is high.

With us you become a specialist in the acute patient pathway – and a generalist across specialties.

We have a common intake of acute medical patients on Funen, and nurses play a central role in this task in close cooperation with emergency physicians and other specialties.

As a university hospital we have specialists at the front around the clock, which provides good opportunities for professional sparring and interdisciplinary collaboration. We work closely with the hospital's specialties and cross-sector partners to ensure coherent patient pathways.

We invest in your development

Education, research and development are an integral part of our daily life.

All new employees go through a structured two-year introduction and training program with support from our five nurse educators. When the program is finished, you will have been trained in two clinical areas.

We believe that strong professional competency develops through learning, reflection and collaboration – and we expect you to want to be an active part of that development.

We imagine that you

  • are passionate about nursing the acutely ill patient
  • thrive in a high-paced environment with great variety
  • work independently and take responsibility
  • are curious and reflective in your professional practice
  • meet students, patients and colleagues with respect and acknowledgment
  • contribute positively to the community and the work environment

A working environment we are proud of

In FAM we place a high priority on well-being, psychological safety and a good working environment. We know that high quality patient care starts with employees who thrive.

We actively work with occupational health and safety, safety and employee involvement, and we go the extra mile to create flexibility in scheduling. For example, we use a preference plan and have a full-time duty planner.

Are you curious?

Then come by and experience the atmosphere in the department. We are happy to give a tour and a cup of coffee.
