About the job

Come and become part of a ward where high professionalism, care and camaraderie are our core values. Become part of a team that strengthens the effort for elderly psychiatric patients and where work with psychiatric and somatic issues go hand in hand.

We are a highly specialized integrated open/closed ward with room for 16 patients. Our target group is primarily 70+ who need acute psychiatric care and treatment. Our elderly patients are admitted with mental disorders, often in combination with somatic issues and cognitive challenges. Younger patients with psychotic or affective disorders also have admission courses with us.

What your future colleagues say about their ward

” The good thing about working on ward 04 is the collaboration we have in the staff group. We are a tight-knit team that helps each other in complicated patient pathways, so that we create security, increased professionalism and no one feels alone”

”What I love about my job on ward 04 is the opportunity for sparring with my colleagues, doctors and my manager”

Job description

On ward 04 you will follow patients in short or longer-term courses. You will contribute to diagnostic clarification, nursing and treatment as well as the good discharge.

As a nurse you will collaborate with professionally skilled colleagues to provide holistic nursing care. A nursing where relationship-building should create the foundation for the whole, so it is experienced as personal and targeted.

As a nurse you will

  • Join in the individual patient pathways, where daily tasks can vary from supportive conversations, patient involvement, administration of medications, preparation of nursing documentation, milieu-therapeutic activities and coordinating contact with partner organisations.
  • Participate in psychiatric – and medical ward rounds.
  • Engage in the multidisciplinary collaboration, which is the entire focal point for our approach to care and treatment.
  • Work purposefully with evidence-based approaches in the involvement of relatives.
  • Collaborate with the primary sector and our Elderly Psychiatric Team in the Local Psychiatry.

Our daily life is characterized by the fact that no two days are the same. We always have exciting work days with a high degree of predictability, but also days with acute situations, where it is important that you, through professional sparring with colleagues, handle the task together. On the ward you will get a job where you can really make a difference and closely follow the patients' development.

What we offer you?

  • An inclusive and dynamic staff group, which prioritises daily well-being and has social commitments several times a year.
  • A versatile everyday life, where you get meaningful tasks linked to psychiatric nursing and somatic instrumental skills. Good opportunity to develop your competencies in a versatile way.
  • Good education opportunities – including the mentor program and the specialty training in psychiatry or to have responsibilities within nursing.
  • Ongoing and mandatory courses in “Trauma Psychology”, “The Good Conversation” and “Conflict Management”.
  • Daily “Time Out”, where we reflect together and prioritise tasks.
  • Weekly 20 professional minutes, where we focus on the nursing for current admitted patients.
  • A thorough introduction with a mentorship scheme that follows you closely the first year.
  • 5 weeks introduction outside staffing.

We are looking for you who

  • Have experience from home care nursing, a somatic specialty or psychiatric specialty and would like to be challenged and gain qualifications in the combination of somatic and psychiatric nursing.
  • Are you a newly educated nurse and think it could be exciting to work with the elderly in a psychiatric specialty.
  • Are engaged, flexible and eager for professional learning.
  • Have the ability to maintain overview in acute and emotionally challenging situations.
  • Last but not least are empathetic and possess good teamwork skills.
  • Wish to use all aspects of the nursing profession.

Terms

  • Permanent position of 37 hours or fewer hours if desired.
  • The positions are in 2-shift work with weekend work every 2nd weekend in 8-hour shifts or on average every 3rd weekend in 12-hour shifts.
  • Application deadline November 27, 2026.
  • You will have great influence on your own work schedule, as we have a “Wish plan”.
  • Interviews held continually.
