About the job

Do you want to work with complex care in a strong multidisciplinary environment, where you follow the patients closely and can really see the effect of your effort?

At S5 at Hammel Neurocenter we are looking for a social and health care assistant who wishes to develop within neurorehabilitation and become part of an engaged team with high professionalism, close collaboration and great care for both patients, relatives and each other.

The position is 37 hours per week in mixed shifts with weekend shifts about every 3 weeks. Start on January 1, 2027 or by agreement.

A specialty with meaning

At S5 we work with patients with acquired brain injury in complex and often intensive rehabilitation processes. Many come directly from intensive care units and require respiratory monitoring, close observation and specialized care.

With us, no day is the same. You will meet patients with physical, cognitive and communicative challenges, and you will become an important part of a rehabilitation process where small steps can have enormous significance.

It requires professional curiosity, clinical insight and the ability to work creatively and in a relational way – but you will never stand alone.

You will be welcomed

We know that it takes security to get to know a highly specialized area.

Therefore you will receive a thorough introduction with a mentor program and close support from our introductory nurse. In the first month you follow your mentor and you are not included in the normal staffing, so you have time and space to learn the specialty, the patients and the work processes. Whether you are a new graduate or coming from another specialty, we ensure you get a secure start.

What will you be working with?

You will become part of a ward where care is complex, specialized and meaningful. Among your tasks will be to:

  • Plan and perform care in complex patient pathways
  • Observe, assess and plan rehabilitation throughout the stay
  • Work closely with patients and relatives in often vulnerable situations
  • Identify the patient’s resources, potential and motivation
  • TOKS, ABCDE assessment, monitoring

We work from Fundamentals of Care, which helps ensure a holistic and rehabilitative approach to the patients.

S5 is a ward with 7 beds and an averageLength of stay of 32 days.

Hammel Neurocenter is the Western Denmark Center for highly specialized neurorehabilitation and receives patients from across Jutland and Funen.

We imagine that you

  • Are keen to work with complex rehabilitation processes
  • Have a sharp clinical eye – also when the patient cannot express themselves verbally
  • Can create secure relationships with patients and relatives
  • Contribute positively to collaboration and the working environment
  • Are willing to learn new things and develop your competencies

Do you want to join?

We look forward to hearing from you. With us you will become part of a specialty where nursing makes a real difference – every single day.
