About the job

Do you thrive in a close and secure professional community? Then you should apply for a position here in TAL

At the Team for Affective Disorders in the Regional Function in Esbjerg we are looking for a nurse who wants to make a difference for patients who are encompassed by our specialty – and at the same time be part of a team where we both take care of the patients and of each other. It is rare that we have positions vacant.

We are a small, multidisciplinary team with high professionalism, great care, and a everyday life where it is busy, but where you still have time to discuss things together. If you thrive with responsibility, presence and a diverse outpatient care trajectory, this could very well be you we are looking for.

About the team and our daily life

Team for Affective Disorders covers the target group of patients with affective disorders, such as depression and bipolar affective disorder, where the complexity requires a treatment pathway at the regional function level. This pathway is individually tailored with a focus on medical treatment, psychoeducation, cognitive behavioral therapy and attachment theory.

In addition, the target group also includes adults with eating disorders and vulnerable pregnant women. These two patient groups are offered partly bundled pathways for patients with eating disorders at the main function level and partly an individually tailored pathway for the vulnerable pregnant women up to 6 months after birth. We also focus on dual diagnosis and provide addiction treatment when relevant. Therefore, it is important that you have knowledge of this.

Your future task will primarily lie within the patient group with affective disorders.

Team for Affective Disorders is located in the center of Esbjerg, and is staffed by the professional groups: physician, psychologist, nurse, social worker and dietitian.

The individual employee works independently with their patient pathways, but the structure in the team supports the shared team responsibility for our patients.

Consultations with patients mainly occur as outpatient, but also during home visits and/or via video.

In our approach to patients we focus on patient involvement, the latest knowledge in the field and flexibility.

With patients' consent, we work closely with relatives and relevant municipal authorities.

We believe that good pathways are created in collaboration with the patient. Therefore we focus on:

  • Proper assessment and clear information
  • Realistic treatment plans that the patient can see themselves in
  • Close follow-up, where we adjust the course together.

As colleagues we are available to each other. We have daily sparring, interdisciplinary conferences and a culture where it is completely natural to speak up when something is difficult – professionally or personally.

Your role as a nurse

As a nurse with us you get a central role in the care pathways. Your tasks will include, among others:

  • Cognitive therapy
  • Nurse-patient assessment, evaluation and follow-up
  • Individual conversations focusing on support, stabilization and psychoeducation
  • Close contact with patients and relatives – both in difficult periods and as progress is made
  • Medication-related tasks: observation of effects and side effects, dialogue with physicians, guidance to patients
  • Participation in interdisciplinary treatment conferences and collaboration with both internal and external partners
  • Relation-building
  • Care for addiction treatment

You will have the opportunity to follow pathways over time, work holistically and use your professionalism both clinically and relationally.

Who do we hope you are?

  • Are a trained nurse with experience in psychiatry
  • Want to work with people who are often in a vulnerable life situation
  • Can work independently
  • Have knowledge of cognitive therapy
  • Have knowledge of addiction treatment
  • Are good at listening, create safety and be clear in your communication
  • thrive with structured work, but can also handle that daily life changes quickly
  • Contribute actively to a good work environment where we help each other across professional disciplines
  • Have a driver's license

What we offer you when you start with us.

  • A planned introduction where you shadow experienced colleagues and get time to become comfortable in the task
  • Mentor program
  • A great work environment where we focus on social life, our safety and well-being
  • Close professional sparring
  • Mandatory and set supervision
  • Professional development
  • Influence on the organization of your work and the opportunity to shape the development of the team’s offerings
  • A team where we value decency, humor and room to be human – also at work

Employment terms

  • The position is a full-time role of 37 hours per week.
  • Start date of 1 January 2027, or as soon as possible
  • The region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be informed of base salary, centrally fixed allowances and pension in your collective agreement, which you can see in the link below. In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications. See starting salaries for positions in Region Zealand
