Guidance Counselor for Ungeguiden (Maternity Leave Cover)

At Ungeguiden we, among other things, handle the educational guidance of pupils and youths from primary school up to the age of 25. We are currently seeking an education counselor/guide for a maternity leave temporary full-time position with start on January 1, 2027.

In educational guidance we work in collaborative task groups and we are looking for a colleague who would like to step into a position that currently primarily focuses on guidance of grades 7-10 in primary schools, as well as guidance of youths up to 18 years. Ungeguiden is a house with nearly 60 employees, which includes coordinating caseworkers, business consultants, educational counselors and retention mentors, as well as four team coordinators and two managers who work closely together on a common core task:

The Guidance Task

The guidance group consists of 20 educational counselors and 2 team coordinators, who together share the responsibility of ensuring guidance to all youths from primary school until they turn 25.

Primary school guidance aims, among other things, to inform about educational opportunities and employment, as well as to support and challenge the students’ reflections on future education and career paths. The daily work is based on a municipal cooperation agreement with the school department and the guidance is always carried out in collaboration with the young person and the parents as well as the school’s teachers and leadership.

The guidance of 15- to 17-year-olds is primarily directed at the young people who have not started directly in education after completing school. Also here the guidance takes place in interplay with the young person and the parents as well as relevant professionals.

We are seeking a counselor who

• Has experience working with youths (you are a trained teacher, pedagogue or educational counselor)
• Is interested in working with all youth age groups
• Has good experience with educational guidance and knowledge of the education system
• Has a Diploma in Educational-, Vocational- and Career Guidance
• Sees interdisciplinary collaboration as a strength
• Has a kind heart and an appreciative approach with a humorous and positive outlook on life
• Is an engaged and clear colleague who, like us, is curious about the individual young person and values close parental collaboration
• Can find individual solutions in collaboration with the young person
• Is flexible regarding work planning and is prepared to have their work week distributed across several schools/locations
• Can work independently and is good at prioritizing, planning and structuring their work in a complex daily life with high tempo and many deadlines
• Has good IT skills and a flair for administrative work
• Has their own car available
