Are you a trained social worker and do you want to help make a difference for some of Denmark's most vulnerable youths with a basis in our core task, then please read on.

We are seeking trained social workers to be part of the daily operations and interaction with children and young people in our offer. You will therefore apply for a job where you do not sit behind a desk and write the orders, but instead help to carry it out, collaborate with colleagues, children and young people about it, and ensure that the interventions are documented and delivered in writing.

We ensure a thorough introduction, a mentor scheme and on-call support in the practical collaboration with experienced colleagues in the housing units, so you are equipped with tools, methods and workflows before you take on responsibility in the task solution.

Egely – in short

Egely is the Region of Southern Denmark’s secured 24-hour institution for young people between 12 and 17 years who are placed on legal or social grounds. We have a total of 20 places, of which 5 are in the specially secured department. There are about 60 young people admitted per year. Currently we have 2 open departments with a total of 10 places, and we are about to open a specially secured department with 4 places.

When Egely has all places open, we are around 80 employees – mainly pedagogical staff in the residential units, but also psychologists, health professionals, social workers, teachers and other professional groups.

The youths we work with often have complex challenges with outward-directed behavior, crime, substance abuse or psychiatric issues.

Our most important task is to help the youths find calm and stability, so they can build new life strategies and take steps towards a better future.

All children and young people at Egely are offered teaching or daytime activities in our internal teaching house, and have their everyday and leisure life in a residence with four other children and young people.

The youths are often placed on the basis of complex social, psychiatry-related and behavioral challenges such as outward-directed or criminal behavior, substance abuse and other challenges.

Your profile

You must be prepared to work in a team around the citizen in a coordinated, rehabilitative effort in the daily lives of children and youths, where you together make a difference every single day. In that team it is important that you contribute with your professional knowledge and practical experience in a multidisciplinary collaboration in a team-based organization.

It is therefore important that you

• Want direct interaction and the implementation of the offer to children and youths in daily life.
• Are a trained social worker, preferably with experience as a practicing professional from the social or psychiatric field
• Have a strong understanding of legislation and authority processes, and can translate this into everyday support for children and youths in our offer.
• Are structured, systematic and secure in the documentation work with and about the child and the youth in the collaboration on the daily content and the agreed goals, orders and deliveries hereof.
• Are skilled at relationship building and establishing professional and constructive collaboration with both the youths and colleagues.
• Can maintain an overview and calm in a daily life with high tempo and high demands
• Are engaged in personal and shared professional development.

Your main tasks

• Collaborate, conduct conversations and plan interventions and agreements with children and youths individually and in group processes.
• Assume the role of a model in direct interaction and collaboration with children and youths, including with a special focus on mentalization, guidance and a calm, clearly visible framework for daily life.
• Document pedagogical interventions, structures and approaches in the citizen administrative system and take responsibility for working methodically and systematically in accordance with guidelines and described workflows hereof.
• Prepare, document and evaluate sub-goals, development plans, well-being and safety plans, pedagogical observations and statements in collaboration with children and youths.
• Plan and conduct inclusive dialogues about the individual’s perceived needs and well-being via team-Youth conversations.
• In collaboration with your team ensure the planning of cooperation and contact with networks and partners around the individual children and youths. Inform and involve parents/guardians as needed.
• Design and continuously adjust the support and the framework for social communities within and across departments.

The practical

The positions are 37 hours per week. In Region Southern Denmark all positions must be advertised as full-time. However, it should be noted that if you choose to apply for the position and you want a part-time role you should write this in your application

Your application must include documentation of education, a complete CV and relevant attachments.

Working hours will be in rotating day/evening shifts, every 2nd weekend and on holidays.

We expect you to have a driving license for a passenger car.

The region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position.

You will be informed of base salary, centrally fixed allowances and pension in the collective agreement for: Social workers, collective agreement number 32.32.1

In addition to the starting salary, the position may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications. There may also be a shift allowance.
