About the job

Do you want to help lead a development-oriented school, and can you take on the managerial responsibility for the Children's School in close collaboration with the deputy head?

As our departmental head has become the boarding school principal, we are now looking for a new department head.

Are you ambitious, clear in your communication, and able to maintain an overview in a complex everyday life?

Are you passionate about creating an exciting and good school day with participation opportunities for the children, and a good working environment for the staff?

Can you contribute to Tingløkkeskolen maintaining and continuing to develop the high student-trust/trivsel (well-being)?

Do you have the ability to put the school’s core task at the center, and can you see yourself aligning with the school’s direction and values?

Then you may be the department head Tingløkkeskolen is seeking!

At Tingløkkeskolen we are ambitious and focus on creating optimal conditions for developing students’ academic, personal and social competencies. We want concepts such as participation opportunities, dignity, recognition, engagement, well-being and community to be the central elements of all activities between students, parents, staff and leadership.

Tingløkkeskolen is a well-regarded school with about 750 students from kindergarten to 9th grade and 85 staff, making it one of Odense’s largest schools. Therefore the position also contains many independent management tasks.

We are well advanced in the work with “Professional Learning Communities” and strong child communities—and continue to strive to improve and develop structures so that each child is involved and contributes to the school’s communities.

We focus on team collaboration as the driving force in everyday life. The teams consist of both teachers and pedagogical staff. The management also works in a team-based way and consists of the school principal, the deputy head and the department head.

The school administration consists, in addition to the leadership team, of 2 secretaries in close collaboration with technical services.

We seek a department head who

  • Can contribute to the daily leadership of the Children’s School – grades 3 to 6 – including student issues
  • Can contribute to the further development of “Professional Learning Communities” - PLC and work with participation opportunities
  • Will exercise leadership close to the daily life of the staff
  • Can manage processes and create frameworks for continued pedagogical development in collaboration with the staff.
  • Can lead change processes
  • Can undertake administrative tasks
  • In time can provide substitute coverage
  • Is clear in their communication

As a person we expect you to

  • Actively participate in the management team, and be an engaged and loyal team player
  • Be able to maintain an overview in pressured situations
  • Be ambitious for the school and for yourself
  • Contribute to a good working environment at the school
  • Have a can-do attitude
  • Thrive in a daily life where you do not have the answer to everything
  • Will be challenged and can be challenged
