About the job

Become part of a Children's House where professionalism, community and development go hand in hand. Are you passionate about relationships, professionalism and strong child communities? And do you want to be part of a house where your ideas are heard, and where we grow together? Then it might be you we are looking for.

We are seeking a qualified educator for 37 hours per week with a start date of January 1, 2027.

As an educator at Troldhøj, you are not hired to fit into a pre-made box. You are hired because we believe that skilled educators develop the pedagogical practice together. Therefore, we are looking for a colleague who wants to put their mark on our Children's House and help create a daily life where both children and adults thrive.

A Children's House with presence, participation and strong communities Troldhøj Children's House is an integrated Children's House, spread across two sites, with around 46 preschool children and 32 toddlers. We are a house with a strong focus on play and movement because we believe that children are meant to move. Therefore, we do not restrict children from moving.

We have climbing walls in both the toddler unit and the preschool, our tables can be folded away so the rooms invite play, movement and small learning environments. We actively use the outdoors every day – on the playground, around the campfire, in our outdoor workshop and on local excursions. We believe that children develop best in safe relationships, smaller communities and an environment where they experience themselves as valuable participants.

More than a job – a strong professional community In Troldhøj Children's House we believe that the best framework for children is created by engaged adults who collaborate, reflect and develop together.

With us you become part of a staff team where we help each other, share knowledge and prioritise a good work environment with room for both professional discussions and laughter in everyday life.

We work from a resource-oriented view of childhood, where all children are met with curiosity, recognition and high expectations. We believe that children do the best they can – and that it is our responsibility to create the best conditions for their well-being, development and participation.

We also believe that happy employees create the best conditions for the children. Therefore we prioritise presenceful leadership, a good work environment and room for both professionalism, sparring and humor in daily life. We want you to go home feeling that you have made a difference – and with a desire to come back tomorrow.

With us you will have the opportunity to…

  • Help develop the pedagogical practice
  • Plan, implement and evaluate meaningful learning environments
  • Work with strong child communities and pedagogy that creates participation opportunities for the children
  • Use our large sloped playground, outdoor workshop and the local area as natural learning environments in everyday life
  • Join a close and appreciative collaboration with children, parents and colleagues
  • Put your own professional mark on everyday life.

We develop together We work from a resource-oriented view of childhood. In 2027 we will all be trained in ICDP, so we stand on a common foundation for our work with relationships, interaction and the adult’s significance for the child’s development.

We are a children's house in development, where we dare to try new ideas, reflect on our practice and share a common ambition to constantly become a little better – for the benefit of both children and colleagues.

In addition we prioritise

  • Professional sparring
  • Reflection on practice
  • Knowledge sharing
  • Development of our pedagogical quality

We believe we become better when we learn together.

We are looking for an educator who …

  • Is a trained educator
  • Is curious and professionally reflective
  • Takes responsibility and works independently
  • Sees possibilities rather than limitations
  • Is good at building relationships with children, parents and colleagues
  • Wants to actively contribute to the community and the development of the house

We can offer you;

  • Preparation time each week – With block time you can decide when you want to use your hours
  • Room for professionalism and presence – Create a safe, structured and inspiring daily life for the children
  • A warm community - A culture where children, parents and staff feel seen and valued
  • Good physical surroundings – A house that provides space for movement, both outside and inside, and where risk-filled play is worked with.
  • Strong traditions and rooms for ideas – We safeguard what works and love new input

That is why you should choose Troldhøj With us you get

  • A children's house where everyone knows each other
  • High degree of participation and influence on the pedagogical direction
  • Leadership that prioritises dialogue and sparring
  • Time for professional reflections and development
  • A staff that helps each other and lifts together
  • An work environment characterized by trust, humour and shared responsibility
