About the job

Do you want to work close to the decisions in a national innovation initiative – and be the one who creates structure, overview and momentum across?

BETA.HEALTH is the Danish hospitals' joint accelerator for clinical innovation. With grants, expert advisory and tailored development programs, we help clinicians and researchers translate needs and ideas from the hospitals into solutions that can create value for patients and the health system – and make the hospitals better able to solve the biggest challenges together.

From 2027, BETA.HEALTH will enter a new five-year period with a grant of DKK 286 million from the Novo Nordisk Foundation and substantial co-financing from the public health service. More than 400 innovation projects will need to be accelerated, while the hospitals must become better at sharing methods, competences and experiences and focus the innovation power on some of the health service's biggest shared challenges.

For that task we are seeking a program coordinator who can help create coherence and momentum in the national organization. ABOUT BETA.HEALTH BETA.HEALTH connects the Danish hospitals’ innovation capacity in one national clinical accelerator with five local hubs. Locally, BETA.HUBS works closely with clinicians and innovation projects. Nationally, BETA.CENTRAL creates a common direction, methods, quality, learning and coherence across.

BETA.CENTRAL is led by a center chief anchored at Rigshospitalet, and a deputy center chief anchored at Aarhus University Hospital. Together they form the daily national leadership of BETA.HEALTH and act on behalf of the entire program – not as representatives of each host hospital. You will become part of a small, tight national team across Rigshospitalet and Aarhus University Hospital, who among other things work with strategy, learning and impact, communications, partnerships and international collaboration.

At the same time you will have wide contact with the local BETA teams and innovation environments at Odense University Hospital, Aalborg University Hospital, Zealand University Hospital, Aarhus University Hospital and Rigshospitalet. ABOUT THE POSITION Your main task is to create structure, overview and momentum in a national organization with many activities, decisions and collaboration interfaces.

You will get close to both daily management and strategic decisions and gain insight into the entire BETA.HEALTH – from innovation projects at the hospitals to board work, reporting and development of new national initiatives. Your main tasks will be to:

  • Keep the annual cycle and decision-making processes aligned: You ensure an overview of meetings, milestones and important deadlines and contribute to ensuring that, among other things, board meetings and other central fora are well prepared. You coordinate materials, follow up on decisions and help ensure that agreements are translated into action.
  • Create an overview of activities and momentum: You help keep the overall activity plan up to date and follow up on deliverables, deadlines and dependencies. When something risks falling between two stools, you help discover it and connect the relevant people.
  • Support the overview of the innovation projects: BETA.HEALTH supports innovation projects in hospitals across the country. You help the management maintain an up-to-date overview of the projects and contribute to collecting and structuring the data used for leadership, evaluation and reporting.
  • Support operations and reporting: You support, among other things, the disbursement of grants to the innovation projects and contribute to reporting to the board, the Novo Nordisk Foundation and other central partners. You also help with practical administrative tasks such as archiving, travel, reimbursements and meeting coordination.
  • Contribute to the development of BETA.HEALTH: BETA.HEALTH is in a significant development phase, and new initiatives will emerge continuously. You help the center chief, the deputy center chief and your other colleagues with coordination and practical execution when new efforts are to be developed and launched.

You work independently, but never alone. The role gives you quick, broad insight into the entire BETA.HEALTH and the opportunity to take responsibility for tasks that affect whether the overall organization succeeds. ABOUT YOU First and foremost, you are structured, meticulous and good at creating overview – even when many things happen at once. You take initiative, follow up and are comfortable being the person who ensures that agreements are followed through.

You thrive on collaborating with many different people and interact naturally across levels – from project managers and clinicians to innovation managers and hospital directors. You communicate clearly and precisely and can translate complex input into material and overview that others can build on. You have a relevant Master’s degree, e.g., in health sciences, administration, political science, economics, management or similar. You may be newly graduated or have a few years of experience.

What matters is not your exact field of study, but your ability to create structure, take responsibility and make things happen. We expect that you:

  • work structurally and have an eye for both detail and the bigger picture
  • take responsibility, follow up and thrive on driving tasks forward
  • express yourself confidently and precisely in both Danish and English
  • are familiar with common digital work tools and eager to learn new systems and data tools
  • thrive in an organization in development where not everything is predefined and where you contribute to creating good workflows

It is an advantage if you

  • have experience with project coordination and secretariat tasks, where you have been responsible for structure and follow-up
  • have knowledge of the health care system, public administration or private or a research and innovation-oriented organization

WE OFFER A special opportunity to get close to the development of a large national initiative in clinical innovation. You will play a central role in building BETA.HEALTH 2.0 and gain broad insight into how Danish hospitals collaborate on innovation – from concrete projects and clinical environments to strategy, leadership and national decisions.

You will become part of a small national team with close access to the center chief and the deputy center chief and tight collaboration with the innovation environments at the five university hospitals. The position gives you a large level of responsibility and at the same time the opportunity to develop professionally. You will be allowed to drive your own tasks and work closely with experienced colleagues and decision-makers across the health service.

There are flexible terms, including the possibility of remote work when tasks permit. EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS The position is 37 hours per week, and the appointment can be at either Rigshospitalet or Aarhus University Hospital. You will report to the center chief of BETA.HEALTH. Salary and employment conditions follow the applicable collective agreement for academics employed in the regions.

Since BETA.HEALTH is a national accelerator, you should expect travel and meetings at hospitals and with partners across the country. The application deadline is 13/11/2026. We expect to hold interviews on 18/11 and 26/11 with a desired start date of 04/01/2027. WANT to KNOW MORE? Contact Rune Holdt, center chief for BETA.HEALTH, at +45 51446925 or [email protected]. We look forward to hearing from you.
