The job

We are seeking specialists in orthopedic surgery or neurosurgery with experience and/or interest in spine surgery, and who wish to help ensure and develop spine surgery in the future.

Rygcenter Syddanmark is an elective specialty department in Sygehus Lillebælt with both spinal medicine and spinal surgical specialities. The department handles assessment and treatment of back patients throughout the Region of Southern Denmark and collaborates closely with the other players in the spine area in the region, including OUH and the region's radiology departments.

The department is open Monday-Friday with planned closures during larger holiday periods.

About you

We expect you to be a specialist in orthopedic surgery or neurosurgery with spine surgery as an area of interest. In addition it is important that you:

• Are proficient in or wish training in lumbar spine surgery
• Actively participate in the department's development - primarily with regard to the spine surgical patient pathway
• Take co-responsibility for the department's operation according to the area of responsibility
• Have good communication and collaboration skills

About Rygcenter Syddanmark

Rygcenter Syddanmark's core task is at specialist level to assess and treat and, including, guide the region's spine patients according to individual needs. The overall goal is to enhance the quality of life for spine patients.

Rygcenter Syddanmark is a spinal medicine and spinal surgery department at Sygehus Lillebælt with about 150 staff. We are known for a high level of patient satisfaction and receive spine patients from across the Region of Southern Denmark. Annually we receive about 17,000 new referrals and operate on up to 900 patients.

We strive to continually become more skilled for the benefit of our patients. Therefore research is a high priority in the department, where we have extensive research activity in both the spinal medical and spinal surgical areas. In addition we have extensive educational activity across disciplines, where we help train our future colleagues.

Qualifications

The application must be prepared in accordance with the Danish Health Authority's description of the 7 medical roles and must include copies of specialist authorization and CV. Emphasis is placed on the applicant addressing the seven competence areas and, to the broadest possible extent, documenting qualifications within these competencies.

Salary and employment terms

In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.

The position is initially 37 hours

Start date 1 March 2027 or by agreement
