We are looking for a dedicated and professionally strong nurse for a maternity leave position at Plejehjem Bernadottegården, where you will become a central player in quality development of residents' care, in supporting and participating in citizen-centered task execution in complex processes and in developing the nursing activities.

This is a newly created full-time position. The work will primarily be daytime shifts, but evening shifts may occur. You are expected to work every 4th weekend.

About the job

As a nurse at a nursing center you play an important role in ensuring high quality in care, nursing and nursing care for our residents. Many of our residents live with multiple diseases, including cognitive impairments such as dementia, as well as complex health and social problems.

Your role will span both clinical nursing tasks and competence development of staff, as well as close collaboration in interdisciplinary teams. Additionally, you will play a key role in systematic and continuous work with quality improvements and you will be an important partner in the collaboration with residents' families and friends.

Your tasks include

Clinical nursing tasks

• Development and implementation of individualized care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Execution and assessment of clinical nursing actions such as medication administration, wound care and monitoring of vital functions
• Supervision and support of colleagues in clinical tasks to ensure adherence to professional standards
• Handling of acute nursing situations and changes in the resident's health status
• Holistic care with particular attention to residents with complex or acute problems.

Competence development

• Teaching, guidance and citizen-centered accompaniment of the nursing center staff
• Participation in development and implementation of internal training programs
• Dissemination and implementation of new professional knowledge and research in practice
• Systematic handover of nursing tasks and ensuring proper training of colleagues.

Mono- and interprofessional collaboration

• Close cooperation with doctors, therapists, social and health care helpers and assistants as well as other professional groups
• Professional sparring and coordination of care plans in interdisciplinary team meetings
• Active participation in network meetings for nursing home nurses
• Support of constructive professional dialogues at the nursing center.

Citizen-centered approach and quality improvements

• Individual adjustment of care based on the resident's needs and wishes
• Active participation in the development and implementation of quality-improving initiatives
• Monitoring residents' well-being and health as well as contributing to decisions that increase quality of life
• Systematic triage, participation in relocation interviews and resident conferences
• Role model in professionalism, communication and behavior.

Collaboration with family and friends

• Building trusting relationships with residents' families and friends
• Advice and guidance to relatives about care and decisions regarding the resident's well-being
• Ensuring open and secure communication between the nursing center and the resident's relatives
• Contributing to a welcoming and safe environment for both residents and their networks.

We are looking for someone who

• Is a trained nurse with experience in elder care or a similar field
• Works independently but thrives in a multidisciplinary collaboration
• Has strong communication skills and an appreciative approach to residents, relatives and colleagues
• Is passionate about quality development and staff competence development
• Is adaptable and able to handle complex and acute nursing situations.

About Plejecenter Bernadottegården

Plejecenter Bernadottegården is a general nursing home with 48 residents.

Bernadottegården has 5 living units, divided into 2 teams with professional team leaders.

Each living unit is composed of kitchen staff and care assistants. Additionally, a physiotherapist and a dietician are attached.

We have an attached center physician.

We are a recognized training site with an onboarding supervisor.

Salary and employment terms

Employment is on collective agreement terms, where salary is arranged with the negotiating organization.

Criminal and child protection checks are obtained, and employment is conditional on these being approved.
