With us you will have a daily life with high professional standards, great variation and the possibility to work with some of the most complex surgical patient pathways while becoming part of a strong collegial community where we help each other and enjoy ourselves.

And yes, we actually believe that you can be very professionally ambitious and still have fun at work.

A job with professional challenges – and room for you

At SYD1 we today primarily handle upper GI and abdominal surgery during daytime. You will among other things work with both elective and acute operations within

  • Oesophageal and gastric surgery
  • Hepatopancreatobiliary and gallbladder surgery
  • Endoscopic procedures

We are part of the acute emergency service, cover trauma calls and work closely with our two neighboring departments (lower GI surgery and urology/gynecology), where we share on-call rooms during shifts.

This means that days are rarely the same, and you will have plenty of opportunities to use your experience and learn new things.

You will become part of a strong team

We are 35 colleagues consisting of operating room nurses, anesthetic nurses and a social and health care assistant.

We emphasize a work environment where

We help each other - we ask each other - we learn from each other and we laugh together.

We have close interdisciplinary collaboration and care about both the patient and the colleague feeling well treated.

We are also a training site for among others anesthesia trainees, nursing students, HU doctors and ambulance responders. If you wish, there is an opportunity to become a clinical supervisor for nursing students.

What do you get with us?

We know that a good working life is about more than exciting operations.

Therefore we offer, among other things

  • Individually tailored introduction program and mentor scheme
  • A daily life with high professional standards and great variation
  • Opportunity for professional and personal development
  • A strong interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Focus on the patient and the good patient pathway
  • A work environment with humor, presence and genuine interest in each other
  • On-call planning according to wishes
  • A strong collegial community – also outside work.

The position is in principle 37 hours per week.

You should expect about 5 evening/night shifts over 8 weeks plus 1-2 weekends with planned work in day or on-call time.

Maybe you are our new colleague?

We imagine that you

  • are professionally curious and want to learn new things
  • work in a structured, safe and efficient manner
  • take responsibility and have an eye for quality
  • thrive with complexity and unpredictability
  • actively contribute to a good learning and work environment
  • want to be part of a team where we use each other’s strengths.

But most importantly: We are looking for a colleague who wants to be part of our community.
